Discover the perfect home for your reptile in this 6x2x4 . This premium HDPE-PVC cage provides a secure and natural haven for your reptilian friend, featuring the highest quality construction. This spacious habitat can easily be customized to perfectly match your reptile's needs. With plenty of room to explore, thrive, and grow, this is the perfect sanctuary for your reptile and a gorgeous furniture piece to compliment any home decor.

What comes with your 6x2x4 enclosure

  • Steady heat, humidity under your control. A solid top is standard, so the enclosure holds the conditions you set — humid for a tropical build, dry for an arid one, adjusted with the vents. Most setups run lower wattage than they would in a glass tank.
  • A frame that stays looking new. 3/4" HDPE, USA made, UV stabilized and colored all the way through, in seven finishes. It will not delaminate, chip, rot or swell, with superior scratch resistance. It also resists fingerprints.
  • Doors that glide. The glass rides on its own track, quiet and smooth, and the track continues down the sides of the opening for a finished edge. Both doors lift and tilt out for cleaning.
  • Glass you can trust. Two 1/4" sliding tempered safety doors with every edge polished, certified to ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Category II and etched to prove it — the more stringent of the two federal categories.
  • Ventilation that moves with you. Six Adaptive Vents across the upper back panel. Every one takes a cover or a fan, so airflow changes as your setup changes through seasons and species. Covers and fans sold separately.
  • Panels built for the climate inside. 1/2" American-made PVC on top, bottom, back and sides. Holds temperature steadily and stays true in heat and humidity.
  • Wiring that stays tidy. Six cord slots in the top edge of the back panel for UVB, LED, heat and probe leads.
  • Stacks without spacers. Two stainless steel dowels in our locking dowel system, which lines up across sizes so habitats, stands and hoods interconnect.
  • A clean finish all round. Color-matched screw covers, so no screw heads show.

Built for bioactive

A living build keeps damp soil, roots and water against the walls every day. This enclosure is made for exactly that.

  • Plastic, top to bottom. The PVC panels and HDPE frame are made for constant humidity. The frame will not delaminate, chip, rot or swell, and the panels absorb almost no water, so your enclosure stays square year after year.
  • Tight seams. Every panel fits snug to the frame, so soil stays in and moisture stays where you put it. For a fully sealed build, run a bead of sealant along the inside edge of each seam.
  • Easy to clean. Smooth surfaces wipe down with a damp cloth, and soil wipes off the frame with a dry paper towel.
  • Room for real soil. A 6" lower frame comes standard, deep enough for a drainage layer and real substrate for burrowing, and it keeps the glass track above the grit. 8" and 10" frames are available in the options above.
  • Airflow you can tune. Every Adaptive Vent takes a cover or a fan, and side vents can be added low or high, so fresh air keeps moving across damp soil without drying your build out.

Configure your 6x2x4

A deeper lower frame, perforated aluminum screen tops, lookout windows, side vents, climbing shelves, grommets, probe channels and custom cuts are all chosen at order time, in the options above. See every option explained.

Prefer fewer vents, extra probe holes or cord slots somewhere specific? Select it above, or email us and we will build it your way.

6x2x4 reptile enclosure specifications

Toad Ranch sizes are true-to-size exterior dimensions. A 6x2x4 measures exactly 72" x 24" x 48" on the outside, which is the number that matters when you are fitting it to a space.

Dimensions 72"L x 24"W x 48"H
Construction PVC enclosure with a 3/4" HDPE front frame and 1/4" tempered glass doors
Floor space 12 square feet
Volume 48 cubic feet
Gallons About 360 US gallons

Species suited to a 6x2x4

Ideal size for larger climbing species and big snakes that use every level — branches to climb and rest along, room for live plants to grow, and a true vertical gradient as well as warm and cool ends.

These species do especially well in it:

  • Carpet pythons
  • Redtail and other boas
  • Larger tree-dwelling lizards such as frilled dragons and prehensile-tailed skinks
  • Monitors that climb
  • Green tree pythons and emerald tree boas

Growing into something bigger? Enclosures are expandable, so a 6x2x4 can become part of a larger build rather than something you replace.

Assembly

One screwdriver, one screw size, no special tools. The front frame arrives pre-assembled with the glass track fitted; you fasten five panels to it. It goes back together at home the way it came apart here — same panels, same holes, same hardware.

Shipping

Free shipping on enclosures, stands and hoods anywhere in the continental US — the listed price includes it. Limited-access and remote destinations are quoted separately. This size ships freight on a pallet with lift gate service, which lowers it from the truck bed to ground level, delivered curbside. The carrier does not bring it inside or set it up, and it arrives flat packed for you to assemble on site.

Close to perfection, small, but noticeable issues.

Let me start my saying I give 5 stars, but really want it to be like a 4.5 and will explain. Customer Service is a 4.99. Fast replies always and very polite and willing to work with you on questions and issues. Took .1 off for not having a free return on lock I did not know would not work on this style enclosure. I did however receive a percentage off a different lock that still had to be modified almost correctly. I still had to shave some metal for it to work. Packaging I give a 5. Amazing job. Instructions and easy of assembly I give a 5. With wife's help, simple and everything aligned close to perfect. Quality of overall product/parts I give a 4.5 taking .4 off for the following: 1. Center support did not align 90 degrees and parallel with the glass panes. off by close to 1/8 of an inch which is noticeable when standing directly in front. 2. When facing the front of the back PVC panel, the top left cut out slot for cord access was not the same measurement from the outside edge as the right side. This resulted in me having to cut a new slot for the left side light cord so that both sides aligned evenly and exited straight out the back. Simple fix, but an oversite either in a cutting program or individual making the slot. 3. The biggest issue I have which some people may have docked the score even more for is an issue with my two glass panes. Each pane has got either pits or something has made them imperfect happened at some point from the glass place making them to me. Appears to me that storage at some point could have allowed something to rub against the glass. I have used the basic safe cleaners with no luck, thinking maybe was just tape residue. Nope. Simple will not go away. Only reason I did not ask to send back is I do not have the extra funds to pay for shipment back like I did with the lock. Nor did I have time to wait for new glass to be shipped if would have been a possible fix. Seems something like this could have and should have been noticed by the individuals packing the glass and taken a look at two more pieces.

The three metal support beams IMO are a must in larger enclosures for stability and are well made and placed within the enclosure.

So, overall, I would and will recommend Toad Ranch to others and will be using again for future items. Bottom line for me is this. If I am paying top dollar for what I consider the best looking and built enclosures on the market, there should be nothing overlooked.

Hi Ronald, Thank you so much for your detailed feedback! We always strive for perfection =) One of our team members will be reaching out to you to get all this taken care of! Occasionally we recieve glass with small pits that happen during the tempering process and can be hard to see in the shop but we will look at additional fail-safes of checking for this. From your photos that looks to be the case and we will gladly send out replacements (we will also replace your adhesive lock since it will be difficult to transfer to the new glass)!
